The Resort Café in Sunway Resort together with Chef De Cuisine Afiq Matkhir, presents an à la carte menu inspired by his wealth of experience and global travels.
Guided by his philosophy that only the best ingredients will suffice, Chef Matkhir adds a personal touch to each exquisitely prepared dish using delicate and precise techniques, drawing out authentic flavours and taste.
Must-try on the menu includes the delightful and ‘Instagrammable’ Blue Prawn Laksa featuring Fresh River Prawns, Clams and Squids, cooked with the perfect balance of Coconut Curry Broth and paired with condiments like Tau Pok, Beansprouts, Green Beans, Shredded Chicken and Sambal.
Next on the list is the Beef Noodle Soup with slow-braised Australian Beef Brisket, Sliced Wagyu, Beef Tendon with White Radish and Peanut Chilli Dip. Pasta lovers are in for a treat with the Porcini Pappardelle where home-made pasta is paired with Porcini Mushrooms, Sage and Butter Scallion.
For fans of Fish & Chips, ours is a Filo Fish & Chips using Filo pastry to coat and crumb the Cod Fillet and served with classic Tartar Sauce, Potato Chips, fork-mashed Green Peas and Malt Vinegar.
The 220gm Mushroom-rubbed Wagyu Sirloin is served with Fries, Broccolini, Beef Jus with three home-made flavoured butter of Roasted Pumpkin Cinnamon, Café de Paris or Ancho Pepper and three Mustard flavours of Truffle, Caramelised Grapes or Pommery.
Other featured highlights include a list of Appetisers, Salads and Soup with dishes such as the Classic Caesar Salad and Keto Salmon Salad. For bites, diners can enjoy a smooth Kale Hummus or Truffle Fries. Burgers and Sandwiches such as the All-American Burger and Lobster Roll is also available.
Desserts are thoughtfully crafted, providing a sweet end to a meal; a signature of The Resort Café, the Tiramisu with Mascarpone Cheese Trifle and espresso-soaked Ladyfingers is a must.
The à la carte menu also offers breakfast where diners can indulge in dishes such as the Cod Benedict with Caviar, a hearty breakfast of creamy Brandade, Poached Eggs, Hollandaise and Sautéed Green Cavolo, Smoked Salmon on Rye Toast with Scrambled Eggs, Dill Cheese Spread, Ikura, Baby Spinach and Tomatoes or the Pavlova Waffle with smashed Meringue, Chantilly Cream and assorted Berries for a wonderful start to the day.
Chef Matkhir is a passionate culinary ambassador trained in Italian and international cuisine and has extensive hands-on experience having studied in Italy and travelled around the region and the world. He has also won numerous competitions and worked in luxury hotels including Jumeirah, Marina Bay Sands and Pangkor Laut Resort.
Speaking about his newest culinary offering, Chef Afiq said “The latest à la carte menu pays tribute to classic flavours using seasonal and organic ingredients. There is also a variety of carefully selected top-grade seafood and meats such as the Marble 6 Wagyu Beef for this season. I hope the menu will take the palate of our guests on a gastronomic journey that transcends borders and awakens the senses.”
