After the launch of the drinks collaboration between The Mizukami Collective and The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel back in February 2021, the team are proud to announce the next phase of their ongoing partnership.
Designed to take patrons on a journey of the senses, the new additions to the cocktail menu evoke a sense of nostalgia with ingredients like Vitagen, Ribena, Milo, Sarsi, and Kopiko, with a contemporary twist. These recognisable childhood favourites make an appearance in perfectly balanced cocktails that take inspiration from drinks like the Pina Colada, Gin Rickey and Boulevardier.
”For The Chow Kit x Mizukami, I wanted the menu to celebrate imagination and the way that taste memories can be triggered by familiar flavours,” explains Shawn Chong, the person behind The Mizukami Collective.
With over a decade of experience and multiple awards under his belt, Shawn Chong is one of the pioneers of the KL cocktail scene, known best as the co-owner of the now defunct Omakase + Appreciate that sparked the speakeasy trend in Malaysia. Since then, he has also had a hand in opening other outlets (Sparrow, The Flowerpecker, Los Sombreros) as well as consulted for various F&B establishments across the city. Chong is also a 3-time Diageo World Class Malaysia Champion, having also claimed the Regional title in 2015.
The new additions will be available from 10 June 2022, Friday.
