The launch of Tsutaya Books at Pavilion Bukit Jalil marks the first store in Southeast Asia for Japan’s largest bookstore chain. Spanning 31,000 sq. ft, this single-storey bookstore is home to over 240,000 specially curated books, stationery and decorative goods.
Catering to the young family market in the area, Bukit Jalil Tsutaya Books encapsulates an enviable children’s section – carrying over 20.000 children’s books in English, Simplified Chinese, Bahasa Melayu and Japanese.
Further catering to the community is the bookstore’s cafe – modelled after the popular and common ‘share lounge’ in Japan, where guests can pull up a chair to do work while sipping on freshly brewed coffee, Kyoto matcha and artisanal desserts like their signature Dorayaki and Fruit Parfait.
