The new store opening of BookXcess in MyTOWN Shopping Centre offers a one-of-a-kind experiential space that’s both contemporary and yet, imaginative.
Spanning over 31,200 square feet, this bookstore offers more than 170,000 books as it’s an architectural space like no other that will redefine your perception of retail, forever!
Books displayed on towering shelves built on stoned pathways, with an ingeniously designed two-level Piazza that invites customers to take a break and chill whilst enjoying the magnificent view of the city skyline. It’s a unique space and milieu that also doubles up as a co-working space, all in one!
Ume Tei Japanese Restaurant & Whisk Coffee Bar & Cakes
Above all, BookXcess MyTOWN is the only bookstore that has a Japanese restaurant and a coffee bar within the same space – Ume Tei Japanese restaurant that serves authentic Okinawa cuisine and Whisk Coffee Bar & Cakes that offers delicious cakes, coffee, and tea.
Designed for a quick pick-me-up and respite from browsing for books, both the outlets are the perfect pit-stops to energise those who may wish to whet their appetite or just pause, to rest, and ponder for a moment.
Artsy decor, hand-painted mini mouse characters on the walls, a piano, and a unique art piece in the form of a life-sized baby Elephant Parade statue, add a touch of quirkiness and creativity to the overall aesthetics of the retail space.
To add a unique twist to the overall experience, one will find a hidden gem amidst the books in the form of a specially built passageway. Located underneath the Piazza is an art space that aims to promote specially commissioned artworks by several local artists that are also available for purchase at very affordable prices.
Head on over to BookXcess at Lot No. L1-012, Level 1, MyTOWN Shopping Centre. Open from 10am – 10pm.
